As a proud contributor to Columbia University's unrivaled commitment to Japanese studies, Nihon Houritsu Kenkyuukai (NHK, or Japanese Legal Studies Association) serves the legal community by organizing social, cultural, and educational events related to Japan, as well as providing information on the many opportunities available at Columbia and in New York for people with Japanese interests. We work in close coordination with the Center for Japanese Legal Studies in order to provide a link between the Law School and the Japanese legal community.
Some activities we are planning for the upcoming semester include:
- Speakers on current Japanese legal trends
- Panels on working in Japan
- Social get-togethers
- Language exchanges
- Cultural events
